🚐 Driving & On the Road

Is it hard to drive an RV?
It's easier than you think! Our RVs drive like large trucks. Before you leave, we provide a 30-minute hands-on orientation covering:
  • Driving basics (turns, lane changes, braking distance)
  • Backing up with camera system
  • Height and width awareness
  • Fueling and parking
💡 First time? We recommend our Class C (25-30ft) — easiest to handle with the best visibility.
How many miles per gallon does an RV get?
  • Class B Campervans: 18-22 MPG
  • Class C (25-30ft): 10-14 MPG
  • Class A (34-40ft): 6-10 MPG
Budget roughly $100-200 in fuel per day depending on distance. We send you off with a full tank!
Where can I park overnight for free?
  • Walmart — most locations allow free overnight parking (call ahead)
  • Cracker Barrel — RV-friendly parking lots
  • BLM Land — free dispersed camping (no hookups)
  • Casino parking lots — many welcome RVs
  • Rest areas — usually 8-hour limit
Apps: iOverlander, FreeRoam, Campendium for finding free spots.
💡 For your first trip, we recommend campgrounds with full hookups ($30-50/night) — much more comfortable!
Can I take the RV to another state?
Yes! You can travel to any state. Popular routes from our Irvine location:
  • 🏜️ Joshua Tree — 2.5 hours
  • 🏔️ Yosemite — 5.5 hours
  • 🌵 Grand Canyon — 7 hours
  • 🎰 Las Vegas — 4 hours
  • 🏖️ San Diego — 1.5 hours

⛺ Campsite Setup

How do I hook up at a campsite?
We walk you through everything at pickup, but here's the order:
  1. Level the RV using built-in jacks or leveling blocks
  2. Electricity: Turn off breakers → plug in surge protector → connect power cord → turn on breakers one at a time
  3. Water: Attach potable hose → add water pressure regulator → turn on spigot
  4. Sewer: Connect sewer hose (slope downhill) → keep valves CLOSED until ready to dump
  5. Extend slide-outs (check for obstacles first)
💡 We include a printed Quick Setup Guide in every RV with step-by-step instructions and diagrams!
What are "full hookups" vs "dry camping"?
Full hookups = electricity + water + sewer at your campsite. Like a house on wheels — unlimited water, power, and waste disposal. $30-60/night at campgrounds.

Partial hookups = electricity + water only. You'll need to visit a dump station for waste. $20-40/night.

Dry camping / Boondocking = no hookups. Use your fresh water tank, generator for power, and dump tanks later. Free at BLM land, Walmart, etc.
💡 First-timers: start with full hookups. Once comfortable, try boondocking — it's the real RV freedom!
How do I dump the waste tanks?
  1. Put on disposable gloves (we provide them)
  2. Connect sewer hose to RV outlet and dump station inlet
  3. Open black tank valve first (toilet waste)
  4. When empty, open gray tank valve (sink/shower — this rinses the hose)
  5. Close both valves, disconnect, rinse hose
  6. Add tank treatment chemical
Don't want to deal with it? Add our $50 Tank Dump Service — we handle everything on return!

🛡️ Insurance & Protection

Do I need special insurance to rent an RV?
You have two options:
  1. Use your own auto insurance ($0/day) — your policy must cover rental RVs. We verify before pickup. You'll need a $1,500 security deposit.
  2. Purchase our protection plan ($25-45/day) — includes collision, liability, roadside assistance. Reduced or $0 deposit.
💡 Call your insurance company before booking. Ask: "Does my policy cover RV rentals?" Most personal auto policies DO cover Class C motorhomes.
What happens if I get in an accident?
  1. Ensure everyone is safe — call 911 if needed
  2. Call us immediately — we're available 24/7
  3. Take photos of all damage and the scene
  4. Get a police report if another vehicle is involved
  5. Do NOT admit fault to anyone
With our Standard ($25/day) or Premium ($45/day) protection, we handle the entire claims process. With your own insurance, you file through your carrier.

🔄 Return & After Your Trip

What do I need to do before returning the RV?
  1. Fill the fuel tank (we charge double market rate for shortages)
  2. Remove all personal belongings
  3. Empty fridge and throw away perishables
  4. Basic tidying — sweep, wipe counters (we do deep clean)
  5. Dump tanks if possible, OR add our $50 dump service
You do NOT need to wash the exterior or deep clean — we handle that with our professional mobile detailing van.
💡 Return by 11:00 AM to avoid late fees ($35/hour). Call us if you're running late!
When do I get my deposit back?
We inspect the RV within 24 hours of return. If everything checks out, your deposit is released within 3-5 business days. If there's damage, we'll contact you with photos and a repair estimate before charging.
