๐Ÿ”ง What To Do If...

๐Ÿ›ž Flat Tire or Blowout

Most common RV emergency. Heat, long distances, and weight cause tire problems.

  1. Pull over safely โ€” get completely off roadway if possible
  2. Turn on hazard lights and set up flares/triangles if you have them
  3. Call us at (949) 600-5500 โ€” we'll coordinate mobile tire service
  4. Stay inside RV if on busy highway โ€” much safer than standing outside
  5. Don't attempt to change RV tires yourself โ€” they're heavy and dangerous

Prevention: Check tire pressure daily, inspect for bulges/cracks, avoid potholes.

๐Ÿ”‹ Engine Won't Start

Often a simple fix! Many "dead" RVs just have disconnected batteries.

  1. Check battery disconnect switch โ€” common cause (look for red knob/switch)
  2. Try starting the generator โ€” sometimes engine won't start but generator will
  3. Check if dashboard lights come on when you turn the key
  4. Look for loose battery cables (don't touch, just look)
  5. Call us at (949) 600-5500 โ€” we can walk you through troubleshooting

Fun fact: 30% of "engine won't start" calls are just the battery disconnect switch!

โšก Generator Won't Start

Usually fuel, oil, or breaker issues. Generators are finicky but fixable.

  1. Check fuel level โ€” generator draws from gas tank, needs 1/4 tank minimum
  2. Check oil level with dipstick โ€” generators shut down automatically if oil is low
  3. Look for tripped breaker switches inside RV
  4. Try the generator reset button (usually red button on generator)
  5. Wait 5 minutes and try again โ€” sometimes it needs a rest
  6. Call us for step-by-step troubleshooting

Generator etiquette: Most campgrounds have quiet hours 10 PM - 6 AM.

๐Ÿ’ง Water Leak

Can cause major damage if not addressed quickly. Most leaks are at connections.

  1. Turn off the water pump immediately (switch inside RV)
  2. Close the main water valve at campground hookup
  3. Find the source of the leak if possible (but don't attempt repairs)
  4. Move valuables away from dripping water
  5. Call us immediately โ€” water damage gets worse fast

Prevention: Don't overtighten fittings, check connections daily.

๐ŸŒก๏ธ AC Not Working

Usually electrical issues. Desert heat makes this urgent!

  1. Check that you're plugged into shore power (or generator is running)
  2. Look at the thermostat โ€” make sure it's set to "cool" and below current temp
  3. Check breaker panel for tripped breakers
  4. Make sure all windows and doors are closed
  5. Listen for the AC unit running (should hear compressor and fan)
  6. Call us โ€” we can often fix this over the phone

Desert tip: RV ACs struggle above 100ยฐF. Park in shade when possible.

๐Ÿ” Locked Out

More common than you'd think! We have solutions.

  1. Check spare key location (we'll tell you where it's hidden during pickup)
  2. Try all doors and windows โ€” sometimes one is unlocked
  3. Check if someone else has a key (spouse, kids, travel companions)
  4. Call us at (949) 600-5500 โ€” we can help you get back in
  5. Don't break windows or force locks โ€” expensive to repair

Prevention: Prop door open when stepping outside briefly, carry spare key.

๐Ÿš— Accident

Accidents happen โ€” here's what to do. Stay calm and follow these steps.

  1. Call 911 if anyone is injured or traffic is blocked
  2. Move RV out of traffic if possible and safe to do so
  3. Turn on hazard lights
  4. Call us immediately at (949) 600-5500
  5. Take photos of all damage, other vehicles, and the scene
  6. Exchange insurance information with other drivers
  7. DO NOT admit fault โ€” let insurance companies determine fault
  8. Get police report number if police respond

Insurance: Our RVs are covered, but document everything for claims.
