๐ง What To Do If...
Most common RV emergency. Heat, long distances, and weight cause tire problems.
- Pull over safely โ get completely off roadway if possible
- Turn on hazard lights and set up flares/triangles if you have them
- Call us at (949) 600-5500 โ we'll coordinate mobile tire service
- Stay inside RV if on busy highway โ much safer than standing outside
- Don't attempt to change RV tires yourself โ they're heavy and dangerous
Prevention: Check tire pressure daily, inspect for bulges/cracks, avoid potholes.
Often a simple fix! Many "dead" RVs just have disconnected batteries.
- Check battery disconnect switch โ common cause (look for red knob/switch)
- Try starting the generator โ sometimes engine won't start but generator will
- Check if dashboard lights come on when you turn the key
- Look for loose battery cables (don't touch, just look)
- Call us at (949) 600-5500 โ we can walk you through troubleshooting
Fun fact: 30% of "engine won't start" calls are just the battery disconnect switch!
Usually fuel, oil, or breaker issues. Generators are finicky but fixable.
- Check fuel level โ generator draws from gas tank, needs 1/4 tank minimum
- Check oil level with dipstick โ generators shut down automatically if oil is low
- Look for tripped breaker switches inside RV
- Try the generator reset button (usually red button on generator)
- Wait 5 minutes and try again โ sometimes it needs a rest
- Call us for step-by-step troubleshooting
Generator etiquette: Most campgrounds have quiet hours 10 PM - 6 AM.
Can cause major damage if not addressed quickly. Most leaks are at connections.
- Turn off the water pump immediately (switch inside RV)
- Close the main water valve at campground hookup
- Find the source of the leak if possible (but don't attempt repairs)
- Move valuables away from dripping water
- Call us immediately โ water damage gets worse fast
Prevention: Don't overtighten fittings, check connections daily.
Usually electrical issues. Desert heat makes this urgent!
- Check that you're plugged into shore power (or generator is running)
- Look at the thermostat โ make sure it's set to "cool" and below current temp
- Check breaker panel for tripped breakers
- Make sure all windows and doors are closed
- Listen for the AC unit running (should hear compressor and fan)
- Call us โ we can often fix this over the phone
Desert tip: RV ACs struggle above 100ยฐF. Park in shade when possible.
More common than you'd think! We have solutions.
- Check spare key location (we'll tell you where it's hidden during pickup)
- Try all doors and windows โ sometimes one is unlocked
- Check if someone else has a key (spouse, kids, travel companions)
- Call us at (949) 600-5500 โ we can help you get back in
- Don't break windows or force locks โ expensive to repair
Prevention: Prop door open when stepping outside briefly, carry spare key.
Accidents happen โ here's what to do. Stay calm and follow these steps.
- Call 911 if anyone is injured or traffic is blocked
- Move RV out of traffic if possible and safe to do so
- Turn on hazard lights
- Call us immediately at (949) 600-5500
- Take photos of all damage, other vehicles, and the scene
- Exchange insurance information with other drivers
- DO NOT admit fault โ let insurance companies determine fault
- Get police report number if police respond
Insurance: Our RVs are covered, but document everything for claims.

- Requires medium-duty tow truck โ not regular passenger car tow trucks
- Length: 20-32 feet (specify when calling towing company)
- Height: 11-12 feet (some overpasses have clearance issues)
